I started this small business because I believe home should feel warm, cozy, and full of heart. Every item I make is designed to bring that feeling into someone else’s life.

🌿 Q: What inspired you to start CL Candles & More?
Cassie:
It all started with my love for cozy living — that comforting feeling you get when a candle’s flickering, your favorite blanket’s nearby, and life just slows down for a minute.
I wanted to create that for other people. My first candle pour was just for fun… but when friends started asking for more, I realized it was something special. From there, it grew into CL Candles & More — a handmade brand rooted in warmth, simplicity, and heart.

🕯️ Q: What does “CL” stand for?
Cassie:
The “CL” is short for Cozy Living — and it’s the foundation of everything I do.
Every candle, wax melt, tumbler, and tee is meant to remind you to slow down, breathe, and enjoy the little things.
✨ Cozy isn’t a product — it’s a feeling. And that’s what I try to share with every handmade piece.
But it also means a second thing. In January 2019 I met Carter. We have been together for 7 years. In April of 2025 he proposed to me. October of 2026 we are getting married❤️ his last name starts with an L so my initials will be CL. The start to a new beginning with a new last name 🥰
☕ Q: What’s your favorite part of being a maker?
Cassie:
The people. 100%.
Meeting customers at craft shows, hearing their stories, and watching someone’s face light up when they find “their scent” or the perfect tumbler — that’s what fills my heart.
And honestly? The creative freedom. I love being able to design something from scratch, pour my heart into it, and see it come to life.

🛍️ Q: What’s the hardest part of running a handmade business?
Cassie:
Definitely balance. Between markets, orders, social media, and creating new products, it can be hard to turn off “business mode.”
But I’ve learned that rest is part of the process. When I take time to recharge — light one of my own candles, sip something warm, or just be still — I come back more creative than ever.

Cassie:
Seasons, memories, and emotions.
Every scent tells a story — Amber Woods reminds me of fall evenings, Vanilla Bean feels like comfort in a jar, and Lemon Verbena smells like a fresh start.
The same goes for my designs — my tumblers, shirts, and décor all reflect cozy living, farmhouse charm, and little bits of everyday joy.

That every single purchase matters.
